What follows below is a vital step-forward in dermining to history of the Duddington building being discussed – but further work is required in this endeavour. John Wyles 1745
When we first visited Duddington in 2009 – we noticed (and photographed) this quaint little cottage. We have photographed this building many times since – and have tried to capture the name-plaque as clearly as possible. For research purposes – we have always referred to this building as the “Wyles Cottage” (and have assuned that one “John Wyles” built this structure in “1745” – hence the name-plaque) – but due to the lack of a street-number or address name, we were unable to properly identify its postal-address. This changed this year, when armed with experience and a new-found determinational, we followed this path of research enquiry:
